EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : 1. A Degree in Mechanical orProduction or Electrical or Automobile or Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose ofits Grant. (OR) A Diploma in Automobile Engineering issued by the Madras Institute of Technology Chennai; (AND) 2. Practical experience in General purpose Engineering Workshop oran Engineering Industry or in a recognized concern for a period of not less than six months; (OR) Practical experience in a supervisory or operative capacity connected with production of goods or material or operation and maintenance of machinery and equipments in a recognized concern for a period of not less than six months.
SELECTION PROCESS : Candidates would be selected through COMPUTER BASED WRITTEN EXAM and ORAL INTERVIEW .

    SALARY AND PAY : During the training period, trainees will be paid a stipend of Rs. 8750/- + Dearness Allowance applicable in respect of regular workmen. Accommodation Allowance will be payable only in cases where company Accommodation is not available / provided.The Selected candidates will be undergoing a structuredtraining (both on the Job & Off the Job) for a period of one year. ABSORPTION / LEVEL OF INDUCTION On successful completion of the aforesaid training, based on the suitability the trainees will be absorbed in the regular scale D6 in  the scale of pay Rs.8750-3%-25670.
    AGE LIMIT : Candidates Maximum age limit is 28 years as on 31/03/2013. Age, Experience will be calculated as on 31st March 2013.
    SELECTION PROCESS : Applications received will be initially screened and  the candidates meeting the advertised criteria will be called for the written test in the ratio of 20 times (Maximum) the number of vacancies (Excluding HAL Ex-Apprentices of Nashik Division) in the order of merit on the basis of percentage of marks of the qualifying examination of the respective disciplines / trades. The percentage of marks indicated by the candidate in the application form willbe the basis of cutoff. Instructions regarding examination will be intimated to theshort-listed candidates individually. The written test will be held only at Nashik. Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 5 times (Maximum) the numberof vacancies for the personal interview on the basis of order of merit in the written examination. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in thewritten test and interview together.

    2. Select Examination Group (A, B, C1 or C2) and fill relevant application form. After submitting your details, Computer Generates a Registration Number. Note down the Registration Number for future Reference. Important: If a Registration Number is already generated in your name, do not fill the form again. If more than one Application is Registered in your name, all the applications may be rejected.
    3. Payment through banks: Print Bank e-Challan for Fee payment through Syndicate Bank or State Bank of India (After fee payment note down Journal Number issued by Bank); Or Payment through Credit/Debit Cards/Net Banking: Make Fee Payment through Credit Card / Debit Card or Net Banking (Note your Transaction id)
    4. Submit fee payment details online only,After 24Hrs or Next working day(after11AM) of fee payment at banks. On confirmation of success full authentication, take printout of the confirmation page.
    5.     NAME OF THE POST  ==  VACANCY ==  EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : 
    1. Jr. Maintenance  & Operator Trainee  (JMOT) - 103 POSTS  == HSC pass from recognized Board or equivalent . National Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade from Institution recognized by SCTE&VT/NCVT with minimum 60% marks for General & SEBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates
    2. Jr. Telecom Technician Trainee (JTTT) - 17 POSTS  == HSC pass from recognized Board or equivalent .National Trade Certificate in Electronics Mechanic Trade from Institution recognized by SCTE&VT/NCVT with minimum 60% marks for General & SEBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates.
    SALARY AND PAY : Jr. Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT) & Jr. Telecom Technician Trainee (JTTT) shall be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.6,000/- per month. The training will be for a period of 1 (one) year. On successful completion of the training, the candidates will be appointed as Semi Skilled Assistant (Electrical/Telecom) in the Semi Skilled –A category in the respective cadre on probation for 1 (one) year in the Scale of Pay of Rs 5200-20,200/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 2100/- with other allowances like Dearness Allowance(DA) at the applicable rates, Medical Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc. as applicable in  OPTCL  from time to time.
    AGE LIMIT : A candidate must be above 18(eighteen) years and below 32 (thirty two) years of age as on 01.03.2013. The Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 (five) years in    case of SC, ST,SEBC, Ex-Serviceman and Woman candidates and 10 (ten) years in case of PWD Candidates.Provided that a person who comes under more than one category mentioned above, shall be eligible for only one benefit of upper age relaxation, which shall    be considered most beneficial to him/her.In case of candidates engaged through outsourcing agency in OPTCL and have completed at least 2(two) years of continuous engagement as on 28.02.2013, the relaxation in upper age limit shall be subject to maximum of 5 years in addition to age relaxation mentioned above. The candidates shall have to furnish the proof of experience along with their application.
    SELECTION PROCESS : The selection process involves written test and interview. Eligible candidates will be called for written test comprising multiple choice questions from General Aptitude and Subject Knowledge. General Aptitude Test will comprise of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Test. The written test will be conducted at Bhubaneswar.There shall be negative marking @0.25 for every wrong answer.    Shortlisted candidates, who will qualify in the written test, will be called for interview. There shall be negative marking @0.25 for every wrong answer.Interview: Shortlisted candidates, who will qualify in the written test, will be called for interview.
    APPLICATION FEE :  Non refundable Crossed demand draft of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two hundred ) only as Processing and Examination fees  by means of an A/c Payee Demand Draft drawn on a scheduled Bank in favour of DDO, Hqrs office, OPTCL, payable at Bhubaneswar. SC/ST candidates from the State of  Odisha and the permanent employees of OPTCL are exempted from paying any fees. The Demand Draft once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
